The Estate

At the foot of Mont Ventoux, discover the land that gives life to our wines.

A Story of Two Families

The story of Château Juvenal is, above all, a story of shared passions and meaningful encounters.

In 2001, Anne-Marie and Bernard Forestier fell in love with this 19th-century estate, surrounded by vineyards and centuries-old olive trees. They embarked on a careful restoration of the property, determined to preserve its character while giving it a new future.

A few years later, the Forestier family joined forces with the Alban family, who had long cultivated the lands of Graveyron. From this partnership, Château Juvenal Winery was born in 2011 — bringing together an exceptional estate, generations of viticultural expertise and a shared passion for the great wines of Ventoux.

Our wines are crafted by Sébastien Alban, who works each year to express the unique character of our Ventoux terroirs with precision and authenticity.

Our Terroir

Nestled on the slopes of Graveyron, our 40 hectares of vineyards thrive in the heart of the Ventoux appellation, one of the most distinctive wine-growing areas of the Rhône Valley.

Bathed in Provençal sunshine, the vineyard also benefits from the influence of Mont Ventoux. Rising to 1,909 metres, the mountain brings welcome freshness, particularly through significant temperature variations between day and night. This unique climate allows the grapes to ripen slowly while preserving their aromatic complexity.

The estate is rooted in rich clay-limestone soils. Clay helps retain moisture during the dry summer months, while limestone encourages deep root development and contributes freshness and elegance to the wines. Together, these natural elements produce balanced wines where generous fruit expression is matched by precision and finesse.

Our vineyards are planted with the emblematic grape varieties of the Southern Rhône: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault for our reds and rosés; Clairette, Viognier, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Muscat Petits Grains for our whites. This diversity allows us to craft wines that are generous, expressive and beautifully rounded, while retaining the elegance that defines the finest Ventoux terroirs.

Each parcel has its own personality. Our role is to understand and nurture these differences in order to reveal the truest expression of the land.

Organic Farming & Respect for Nature

For more than a decade, the estate has been farmed organically. This commitment reflects a deeply held belief: nature is both generous and fragile, and deserves our utmost care.

We favour practices that respect the soil, biodiversity and the natural rhythm of the vine. Harvesting is carried out with great care to preserve the integrity of the grapes and the quality of every vintage.

Our commitment extends beyond the vineyard. We continuously seek to reduce our energy consumption and improve our production methods through a more sustainable and responsible approach.

Our Philosophy

We believe that wine should, above all, create emotion.

At Château Juvenal, our ambition is to craft wines that faithfully express their origin. Rather than shaping the terroir to fit a style, we aim to reveal it with clarity, balance and authenticity.

Everything begins in the vineyard. Grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, when fruit, freshness and concentration are in perfect harmony. In the cellar, each wine is treated individually, without following a fixed formula from one vintage to the next. Nature sets the pace, and every harvest tells its own story.

Both in the vineyard and in the cellar, we strive to balance tradition and innovation, combining technical precision with the intuition that comes from experience.

Some wines are crafted to be enjoyed in their youth, while others are destined to evolve gracefully over time. Yet they all share the same purpose: to bring people together, create memorable moments and leave a lasting impression.

Olive Oil

Our olive oil is produced using traditional methods from our ancestral olive grove, where some trees are more than 300 years old.

The olives are grown with respect for nature, harvested by hand and cold-extracted after being stone-milled in a traditional local mill. The oil is then naturally settled in conical stainless-steel tanks to preserve its purity and character.

Because the harvest takes place early in the season, towards the end of November, the resulting oil displays the vibrant, peppery characteristics known in France as “fruité vert” — a fresh, green-fruit style highly prized for its intensity and complexity.

Our olive oil is certified Organic by ECOCERT and carries the AOP Provence designation.

Recognising a Passion for Excellence

Over the years, our wines have been recognised by wine competitions, respected guides and industry professionals. These distinctions encourage us to continue pursuing excellence while remaining true to our terroir and the values that define Château Juvenal.
